I'm still taking pictures of random things one month after coming to Japan.

See this machine? It looks like some kinda toy or arcade thingy, with loads of buttons to hammer at, but I was quite tickled to find that it's a machine for you to buy food coupons. You put in the appropriate amount, then press the button that says gyoza (or whatever food of your choice). With the little slip of paper you get, you bring it to the counter to place your order. While it's cute, because I've never seen it in Singapore, it seems quite pointless. Why can't we just order from the counter directly, instead of making it a two-step process like that that wastes paper? And you'll end up clogging the entrance when people are indecisive and don't know what to pick, or when they've got butter fingers and take forever to press the right button when there are many people queueing behind. Weird.

And this sign, discovered on the back of the door of the toilet cubicle, was amusing. Some of the signs in Japan are quite duh, but I suppose that if they feel that there's a necessity to urge people to do the obvious, then it's because there are really dumb people around. In this case, maybe they think they need a yard of toilet paper to wipe their ass. Or that one should dress up as a mummy before leaving the cubicle.

Lastly, this is what I saw hanging above the table where my 'date' and I were having dinner yesterday. Such ornamental stuff that comes together with the actual lamp is really pretty. In fact the whole store was extremely quaint. The round tables looked like they were stumps from huge tree trunks, and I somehow felt that I was eating in the fairy circle in a clearing in a forest. Very Enid Blyton.

I've got to take more pictures.
