Monday blues!

Weird sleeping hours (8.30pm yesterday to 4.30am this morning, then 6am to 7am), bad hair day... When I reached the office and saw the piles of notes on my desk and the common area that had to be cleared, I groaned inwardly. At least that's done, and the stomach growling of two hours ago has stopped, so I guess I won't be lunching today - too lazy to find lunch partner. Diet! I doubt I'll have time for dinner. I have this feeling, probably a very accurate one, that I'll be super hungry later. But nevermind. :)

Things always go wrong somehow; It's simply a matter of time. Daily conversations over a prolonged period will surely pitter out to once every two days, once every four days, once a week... It happens without me knowing why, and every rare conversation feels different, awkward? Claiming to be too physically tired at the end of a day to chase after retreating friendships is a convenient excuse, yet at the same time, it seems valid. This scenario appears to have happened twice already as far as I remember. Of late there's been another daily conversationalist; Will that go down the same road too? I know that it takes effort to maintain friendships, and I've come to realise that some friendships require more effort than others. (It reminds me of "Some are more equal than others" as mentioned in George Orwell's Animal Farm.) If only everything can be easy...

Then again, where's the challenge - and satisfaction - in that?
