weekend fun
Sunday, 29 June 2008

The weekend has come and gone, but it has been really good, filled with fun, good news, dramas and me-time. Packing in all that enjoyable stuff means that I didn't really do any work this weekend, but mans, with only 5 more weeks left in Japan, maybe that's the least of my worries. Haha. Anyhow, I went to Kawagoe, also known as Little Edo! I really liked the old buildings with their sturdy looking exterior, and the interior, when filled with mouth-watering, tantalising, yummy bean snacks etc, was absolutely attractive. And that alley filled with candy shops... The company was good, so it made all that walking not just bearable, but fun. :)

Then I came home and received the email notification about having been matched with a host family for a weekend homestay! Apparently they live near Enoshima, one of my favourite places, and they are said to be friendly, and the host mom is a good cook! I'm really excited about it, yet at the same time I'm feeling a little nervous about meeting them this coming week for the orientation.

I also finished watching the drama series 花ざかり君たちへ (otherwise known as Hana Kimi), which has a Taiwan-produced counterpart known as 花样少年少女. Having watched both, it becomes obvious that different producers have different takes on the same storyline, with the Taiwanese production being more goofy while the Japanese production is more serious. Hmm. For such shows, both sides manage to find good looking cast though! Maybe big countries have a bigger pool of attractive people - it's simple mathematics. I shall watch 花より団子 next and compare that with Taiwan's Meteor Garden. The laptop really is a very good friend of mine. :)

Whee! Looking forward to more fun!!
