you light up my life
Thursday, 26 July 2007

Tiring day yesterday, taking turns with yijun to lug around 5 bottles of alcohol, trooping all over town for hours. But the end result was really pretty:

Part 1 - candles galore, for admiration

Part 2 - presents galore, for exhilaration

Part 3 - fishing galore, for organisers' pleasure

At five minutes to ten we were all ready to go, beginning to light up the numerous candles, when we got news that the birthday girl was hungry and wanted to go for dinner. We all probably wilted visibly, because that meant an extra hour's wait. So we took off our sandals, put up our feet, and made ourselves comfortable. For a more romantic atmosphere, we turned off the lights and lit some candles, and chit chatted.

But we were still bored, so yj had the idea of tying strings to the bottles, then leaving them dangling as the sides after we placed the bottles in the pool for sy to fish out. I'm glad that despite the botched beginning when we didn't even notice the happy couple walking past, everything turned out good! I love stayovers, and the chit chatting, and the catching up. There's something about sitting back and relaxing around a pool with drinks, snacks (that reminded us of our childhood), ice cream, and good company. I liked the solitude that we had, the silence. Having the whole place to ourselves, hanging out in the wee hours of the morning - well, it's something really novel to me. Enjoyed myself loads, I hope you did too.

A little in advance, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :)
